BENGALURU: Vignesh Nataraj Kumar of Sri Kumaran\u2019s Children\u2019s Home, Bengaluru bagged rank 1 of the engineering stream in Karnataka CET, whose results were announced on Thursday morning.
Arjun Krishnaswamy of RV PU College, Bengaluru and Samrudh Shetty of Vidyaniketan PU Science College, Hubli secured rank 2 and 3 respectively. Except for rank 3 and 4, it was a total sweep by Bengaluru students. All in top ten are boys.
In Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Pratherksha R of Sri Kumaran\u2019s Children\u2019s Home secured rank 1. Byresh S H of Expert PU College, Mangalore and Srijan M H of Base Pau College, Hubli were in second and third position respectively.
Byresh topped Agriculture stream. Anurag Ranjan of Pramana PU College, Raichur and Karthik Manohar Simhasan from outside Karnataka (Lady Anusuya Singhania Educational Academy, Rajasthan were rank 2 and 3.
In veterinary sciences, Malavika Kapoor And Chandan Gowda of Mahesh PU College secured rank 1 and 3 respectively. Pratheeksha R secured rank 2.
In BPharm, Pratheeksha and Malavika were rank 1 and 2 respectively. Madhav Soorya T of Narayan e techno school Marathahalli was rank 3. In Pharm D, Pratheeksha, Malavika and Madhav secured top 3 ranks.
For the first time, BSc nursing admissions are being made through CET. This far, admissions were made using class 12 marks. In CET, Malavika, Pratheeksha and Chandan Gowda secured ranks 1, 2 and 3.
The government seats in private colleges will see a fee hike of 10%. \u201cthe hike was made by the previous government before the election code of conduct kicked in. Since all the formalities have been completed in this regard, the new fee will be applicable this year,\u201d said higher education minister MC Sudhakar.
Around 2.6 lakh students had applied for CET this year and 2.44 lakh students had taken the exam. 2.033 lakh students have become eligible for engineering seats.<\/div>\n
