Subsequently, the volume of complaints started to increase and at present\u2014even after 10PM\u2014users are still encountering difficulties while using the Elon Musk-owned platform.<\/p>\n Considering that the outage began impacting users at approximately 5PM and continues to affect them, this is one of the lengthiest periods of downtime experienced by the micro-blogging platform\u2014currently reaching about 4 hours at the time of writing. Twitter has not yet acknowledged the outage or provided any statements regarding the issue.<\/span><\/p>\n Twitter users are complaining of a variety of issues, ranging from being unable to retrieve tweets to receiving the error message \u201crate limit exceeded.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n The hashtag #TwitterDown is also trending on Twitter, and it appears that not everyone is having problems with the platform. We can access the website and the iOS app without issue.<\/span><\/p>\n Update<\/strong>: Elon Musk tweeted that Twitter has applied \u201ctemporary limits\u201d to address \u201cextreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.\u201d It is possible that the \u201crate limit exceeded\u201d issues are caused by this temporary limitation.
