How you may ask? Well, Apple has updated the Visual Look Up feature with iOS 17, that\u2019s set to release in September this year. As a part of the update, the Visual Look Up on iPhone can now identify common symbols on the car\u2019s instrument cluster.

According to Apple\u2019s iOS 17 preview page, the updated Visual Look Up can detect a lot more than just the car’s tel-tel lights. The page mentions that users can look up things that they\u2019ve lifted. Apart from this, users can now also pause a video and tap on the information icon to Look Up the particular object in the scene.
Notably, the preview page does not mention Visual Look Up\u2019s capabilities about being able to tel users what those car symbols mean. The report also mentions that updated Visual Look Up can detect multiple things in a single frame. And it can provide users with the information on what that particular light means along with a small description about it.
The feature can detect several signals from the car’s dashboard. This includes climate control, headlight options, defrosting, etc.

To use the Visual Look Up feature, users can open the Photos app on their iPhone and tap on an image. If the Visual Look Up detects that there are car lights and signals, then users will see an icon with a steering wheel.
