Starting June 21st, individuals can access the necessary parts, tools, and manuals to repair their iPhone 14, as well as M2 chip-powered 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 14 and 16-inch models, in the US, UK, and other European countries.
Starting from June 21st, you can now order parts for the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. This includes the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops. Unfortunately, parts for the newly released 15-inch MacBook Air are not yet available.
Starting in 2022, Apple launched a self-repair program for several of its models, including the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone SE. Later, select Macs were also added to support the right-to-repair movement. Through this program, Apple offers users all the required spare parts and a detailed guide to carry out self-repairs on these devices.
Apple makes self-repairing iPhones easier
Apple has made changes to the self-repair process based on customer feedback. One of the steps, “System Configuration,” required users to call Apple on the phone and was criticised as burdensome. However, Apple has now introduced a new self-service option where users can initiate System Configuration by putting their device into Diagnostics mode and following on-screen instructions.
Users will no longer need to contact the Self-Service Repair support team for the final repair step, but they are still available for assistance if required. However, it’s important to note that System Configuration is only available for iPhone repairs. This step ensures genuine Apple parts are used, firmware is updated, and components are calibrated for optimal performance and quality.
In the US, the UK, and seven European countries, individuals can also repair the TrueDepth camera and top speaker on iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models. Additionally, M1-based desktops, such as the iMac, are included in Apple’s program.

[ad_2]

Source link

[ad_1] Apple has expanded its Self Service Repair program to include newer devices and has made the process less complicated.
