users to sign into their Apple ID with Face ID or Touch ID instead of their password on various Apple sign-in pages, including icloud.com.<\/p>\n<p id=\"1\" class=\"story_para_1\">Now\u00a0logging into Apple websites will be simplified as users can enter a passkey instead of their full Apple ID credentials, including PIN and password. This option will be available on Apple\u2019s website for a more convenient login process.<\/p>\n<p id=\"2\" class=\"story_para_2\">\u201cThis update will allow a user to sign into any Apple web property using the designated passkey for their Apple ID, and it can be used with Sign in with Apple on the web,&#8221; Apple said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p id=\"3\" class=\"story_para_3\">According to Apple, users running beta versions of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and macOS Sonoma can test it on iCloud.com and appleid.apple.com starting today. Plus, they are not reused across sites like passwords can be, so the risk of stolen credentials affecting other accounts is less.<\/p>\n<p><videocarousel\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"6\" class=\"story_para_6\">Passkey is based on WebAuthn standard, so users can use biometric authentication like Face ID or Touch ID, or use a PIN to validate a login attempt.<\/p>\n<p id=\"7\" class=\"story_para_7\">The private key never leaves your devices, so it can\u2019t be leaked from websites or apps. You can use AirDrop to securely share a passkey with someone else.
