On the sidelines of the UK\u2019s biggest tech conference \u2013 London Tech Week \u2013 Business & Trade Secretary, Kemi Badenoch, addressed delegates, tech firms and investors at the Banqueting House in London to announce that \u2018UK is open for business\u2019.<\/p>\n At London Tech Week 2023, the UK invited the biggest ever Asia Pacific delegation, including investment funds worth \u00a3100 billion.<\/p>\n WATCH VIDEO:\u00a0UK Wants To Be The \u2018Unicorn Kingdom\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cLadies and Gentlemen, we are open for business. And that\u2019s why I\u2019m excited to announce the launch of our new global tech awards, promoting the benefits of the UK ecosystem around the world,\u201d said Business & Trade Secretary, Kemi Badenoch.<\/p>\n The UK\u2019s government is actively promoting itself to global tech businesses as \u201cUnicorn Kingdom\u201d.<\/p>\n The new award is an expansion of the Tech Rocketship Awards and is called \u2018Unicorn Kingdom: Pathfinder Awards 2023\u2019. The UK government hopes to identify the \u201cbrightest and best tech companies around the world.\u201d The winners will be flown to the UK and given support to help them accelerate their business growth.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd while I\u2019m talking about growth, I\u2019m sure you are all aware that it was just a few weeks ago that we agreed our accession to the CPTPP \u2013 the UK\u2019s biggest trade agreement since we left the EU \u2013 which promises huge potential for the UK economy.
