A Zhejiang-based company has reportedly announced the \u201cextramarital affairs prohibition\u201d order. According to a report in Jimu News, the warning applies to all married employees. The company passed the order in a staff rule recently.
\u201cTo strengthen the company\u2019s inner management, to advocate a corporate culture of being loyal to family and love between a husband and wife, to better protect the family and to focus on work, all employees who are married are barred from vicious behaviours like having an extramarital affair or keeping a mistress,\u201d stated a company document explaining the rule to staff.
\u201cAnyone found violating this stipulation will be fired. We hope all staff can have correct love values and try to become good employees with four \u2018Nos\u2019 \u2013 no illicit relationship, no mistress, no extramarital affair and no divorce,\u201d added the company.
Reason behind the termination rule unclear
It is not unclear what has made the company go for this new rule. The company\u2019s affair ban announcement has received mixed responses on mainland social media. The decision to adopt the extreme measure has divided the public opinion.
According to a report in the South China Post (SCMP), a married senior executive at a state-owned oil company in China was fired recently after he was filmed holding hands with a woman who was not his wife. The executive was fired after his photos went viral on social media.
