It has been close to a decade since the console launched. Intended to compete with the PlayStation 4, the console saw multiple hardware revisions post-launch\u2014right from the Xbox One S to the more powerful Xbox One X, or Project Scorpio, as it was initially called.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve moved on to Gen 9,\u201d Xbox game studios chief Matt Booty told Axios. Microsoft has\u00a0told that no first-party games under the Xbox Studios umbrella are under development, but this doesn\u2019t mean that Microsoft will leave users in the dust and stop supporting the console.<\/span><\/p>\n Microsoft will be using Xbox Game Pass and its cloud streaming services to power the last-generation console. As noted by The Verge, the gaming giant is offering games like Microsoft Flight Simulator for the console using cloud streaming, and moving forward, Matt Booty acknowledges that this will be the way Microsoft maintains support for the system.<\/span><\/p>\n Notably, at the recently concluded Xbox Games Showcase this week, Microsoft showed no first-party games for the system\u2014being able to run natively on it.<\/span><\/p>\n From the looks of it, it seems like Microsoft is going all-in with its current-generation Xbox Series X and Series S consoles and has finally embraced the \u201cnext-gen.\u201d The company has first-party games like the reboot of Fable, Starfield, and Forza Motorsport under development for the systems.<\/span><\/p>\n Notably, games like Bethesda\u2019s Starfield list having SSD as the basic spec for PC users, and considering Xbox One and even the more powerful One X offer HDDs, the consoles are hard to support moving forward.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Rival brand PlayStation is also slowly dropping support for the PS4 console, and moving forward, titles like Marvel\u2019s Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy XVI will only launch exclusively for the PS5.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n [ad_2] [ad_1] Curated By: Shaurya Sharma Last Updated: June 16, 2023, 14:24 IST Redmond, Washington State, USA Xbox One launched in November 2023.
